Every attempt is celebrated, every success shared. Like after a day of outdoor climbing, we love to gather, chat and create memories over a coffee or a good beer. More than a gym, Café Bloc is a living space where we climb—but above all a place where you feel at home, surrounded by friends and partners in adventure.

Where climbers meet
Café Bloc embodies the community spirit that brings people together. It is a friendly, inclusive space where you can push your limits or simply hang out with great company. The space reflects the life experience of its founders, who wanted to recreate the atmosphere found at the base of a climbing wall.
Rock formations sit in the heart of nature—whether in forests, sandy deserts or canyons—so respecting flora and fauna is essential. The environmental footprint of Café Bloc is kept as small as possible by partnering with local companies such as La Tasse, Bon Vivant, La Boulangerie Guillaume, Mate Libre and Fou de l’Île. Café Bloc also supports local artists and artisans for furniture and décor.

A devoted climber for roughly fifteen years, Jean-François—“Jee” to his friends—has always had an entrepreneurial drive.
Whether in business ventures or climbing trips, his résumé speaks for itself. Climbing has taken a central place in his life. Squamish, Indian Creek, Yosemite, the Bugaboos… all these destinations helped make Jee a complete, versatile climber and, above all, a nature lover. You could talk endlessly about his climbing achievements, yet it is his human side that defines him most. These experiences transformed him, but it is the encounters, the sharing, the exchanges and the kindness toward those around him that make him the exceptional partner he is today.
For him, Café Bloc is destiny fulfilled: the convergence of everything he holds dear under one roof. The chance to share his vision of what our community can be.

Sébastien Aubé
Co-founder
Sébastien is a young entrepreneur who has focused on real estate and renovation in recent years.
Since discovering climbing in 2010 he has travelled the world in search of extraordinary rock faces: Tonsai, Kalymnos, Red River Gorge, El Potrero Chico, Viñales, Squamish, Canmore, La Mojarra… What he loves about the sport is pushing past your limits in a friendly environment, in harmony with nature. After first falling in love with outdoor rope climbing, he discovered indoor bouldering in 2017—a discipline he now turns to when Quebec’s weather is less kind to climbers’ fingers.
Dynamic, passionate and enthusiastic, Sébastien is always ready to share advice to help others progress professionally and personally. He has done a lot of work on himself, constantly striving to improve. Physical and mental health, fulfilment, family and friendship are values that mean the world to him.
